I have been seeing a doctor that recommends alternate therapies that obviously do not require a prescription or health insurance. Are these costs tax deductible if they are known to be helpful? The specific remedies that I receive are therapeutic massage and acupuncture.
ANSWER
The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:
Are these remedies prescribed by a licensed physician? If they are, they can be treated as tax deductions on your Schedule A of your Form 1040. Make sure that you have a letter or note from your doctor detailing the recommendation.
